Usually OTG cables doesn’t work because of two reason. One is related to the software and the other is in concern to the Cable (Hardware).

That means your phone is not providing enough power for the pendrive to turn on for the phone to detect. If that is the case you must use an OTG cable with alternative power supply. This is called “Y type otg cable”. It usually costs more than the normal version of OTG just for the reason that they are sold by less number of merchants online.
