There is no denying that Smartphones are conquering the world of mobile technology today. It seems like every person wants to get their hands on a Smartphone. On the other hand, phone manufacturers are working hard to think of new ideas and developing mobile operating systems to make their mobile phones more consumer-friendly.
The battle for the best operating system has begun and the victor of this battle is still a big question. The two most popular operating systems among consumers today are the iOS (Apple) and Android OS (Google). Both operating systems are made by industry tech giants which makes it a harder choice for consumers out there. Every person contemplating on buying a Smartphone have the same question in mind, “Which operating system is really better?”
The iOS from Apple
Let’s get to know more about Apple and its operating system. Apple is behind the introduction of Smartphones in the mobile phone industry. We can give it credit for being the brand behind the new breed of mobile phones. How people see and use Smartphones today has certainly changed people’s lifestyles. Smartphones are no longer just for texting and calling. It can be your mini-computer as it can run several applications plus give you access to the web.
Apple’s Smartphones or the iPhone is a gorgeous spectacle thanks to the iOS. Clearly, the iOS has an impressive look compared to other operating systems out there. It features capacitive touch which offers users a smoother touch phone experience. The iPhone’s software and hardware are both from Apple which guarantees users that the phone’s performance will be stable and speedy.
The only downside of using an iPhone is that it is a close system which means that only Apple products cannot be easily customized. Hence, users will not have total control over their devices. This is primarily the reason why iPhone users choose to unlock and jailbreak their phones. Although effective, it voids the Apple warranty. And of course, there is always the danger of ruining your phone, including your phone system app for business when you jailbreak it.
Android from Google
While Google’s Android may not be as beautiful as the Apple iOS, its open system makes it very attractive to consumers. With the Android, users have more control over their devices. Android’s open system also allows different mobile manufacturers to use the Android OS on their handsets. Unlike the iOS, where the operating system is exclusive to Apple devices only.
The Android is also easier to work with for application developers. With the Android integrated to different Google products, switching networks won’t be a problem. Many people say that Android is more consumer-friendly too.
However, the downside of Android OS is that it drains the battery quicker and there had been a lot bug and error reports from the previous versions. Google said that this problem can be easily solved through updating the version of the Android.
Which One to Choose?
Well, the simple answer to this question is it will depend on your wants and needs. The more complex answer is it will depend on which aspect of your mobile phone are you willing to sacrifice?
One of the things you have to consider is what happens to your current phone when an update happens? With the iOS, every time Apple makes a higher version, they try to phase out the older applications. Why? So consumers like you and me will keep buying their new phones and personally, I think this is not friendly to consumers.
So, which one will you choose? If you prefer the flashy appearance and be in with the trend, get the iPhone with iOS. But if you are someone who hate phone restrictions and really want to have more control over your phone, then the Android OS is for you.
