As we know smart phones are getting cheaper and cheaper but who would expect them to come in as cheaper as 251 INR or 4$ !
Yes, an Indian electronic company by name “Ringing bell” has launched a smartphone by name Freedom 251 for just ₹251 or around $4, A company’s spokesperson has unveiled it on 18th February 2016. This comes out to be the cheapest of all smart phones beating even Chinese mass producers.
The quality of the phone is not as low as one might assume the first time they hear its price. The phone looks average with its plastic which not at all looks that cheap. It comes with a charger and earphones as well inside a well packed cover. Irony is that the sim-card or memory card (which it also supports) to be used on the phone might cost more than the phone itself!
So to answer the question, the quality of the freedom 251 is good at the price level and it is worth a buy!
The phone boosts some fairly competitive specs which includes both software as well as the hardware.
According to the company the freedom is manufactured overseas and assembled in India. They also share their plans of manufacturing and assembling the device completely in India in the coming future to become a part of “Make in India” [A Vision of Narendra Modi].
The phone also comes with some inbuilt apps for basic things and to match the targeted customer group like farmers, labours, fishers etc.
